When my son was in 4th grade I reached out to all the dads of sons in his grade level. I shared my vision for a father-son group that would have all of us doing father-son activities once a month. Out of all the dads only 9 were able to commit to the project. Our father-son group started in 5th grade and ended at the end of 8th grade. When the boys entered high school their schedules became very demanding with homework, sports, and clubs so we decided to end our group. During our four years together we all (fathers and sons) learned so much about how to run a successful and meaningful father-son program.
